Double Envelopment description
Double Envelopment is a strategic battlefield game about building an army, managing funds and directing offensives across a map. Capture settlements and enemy infrastructure while defending your bases and keeping your forces supplied.
In campaign missions, units deploy from a main base, and losing all your bases means losing the level. Plan routes by drawing arrows toward objectives, use supply trucks to establish forward posts, and balance attacks with the need to protect your positions and preserve your army.
Gameplay and features
- Plan map-based offensives: Draw arrows toward objectives and coordinate strategic, operational and tactical maneuvers as your forces advance across the battlefield.
- Build and manage an army: Deploy infantry, anti-tank soldiers, snipers, paratroopers, tanks, helicopters, missile launch trucks and fighter jets while managing your budget and morale.
- Secure settlements and infrastructure: Capture cities and other settlements, destroy enemy command posts that spawn reinforcements, and take infrastructure that can provide money or unit bonuses.
- Establish and defend forward posts: Supply trucks let you place forward posts near the front line, but their placement is limited by truck proximity and the posts can be destroyed by enemy fire.
- Adapt to varied terrain: The described maps range from frozen tundra and arid deserts to tropical archipelagos, with terrain and water presenting obstacles to overcome.
Frequently asked questions
What is the main objective in a mission?
Assault and occupy cities, take over settlements, destroy enemy command posts and defeat all enemy units while keeping your forces and budget intact.
How do forward posts work?
Use supply trucks to place them near the front line. They must be within close range of a truck, and you need to defend them from enemy fire.
What happens when you capture infrastructure?
Captured infrastructure can benefit your forces: banks provide money, while gas stations, airfields and airports improve unit speed, range and strength.
How does morale affect the army?
Losing too many units reduces morale, which weakens both your current forces and units spawned later.
