Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is a real-time strategy game set in the Warhammer universe. You take the role of a warlord leading factions in battles to conquer the Realm of Ghur. Its campaign presents a conflict for survival and dominance through the perspectives of champions and warlords.

The cinematic campaign features four major factions, including the Stormcast Eternals, Orruk Kruleboyz and Nighthaunt. Its plot was developed in conjunction with Black Library author Gavin Thorpe.

Gameplay and features

  • Conquest challenge: Play a single-player challenge across procedurally generated campaigns, maps and unpredictable combat scenarios. Twists change the conditions of conflict, and you can head directly for victory or fight additional battles to pursue a high score.
  • Multiplayer matches: Play online in 1v1 or 2v2 matches, with human or AI teammates and opponents. The game also offers co-op with a friend and a ranked 1v1 competitive ladder.
  • Map and scene editors: Construct battle maps with the Map Editor, which uses the tools used to create the game's existing maps. The Scene Editor lets you place and pose characters and props in scenes to share.
  • Army customization: Use Army Livery to personalize your forces with paint from the Games Workshop Citadel collection.
  • DirectStep controls: Cycle through units, plan their routes and engage enemies using the DirectStep control system.
