Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters description
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters is a turn-based tactical RPG in which you lead the Grey Knights against Chaos. The central threat is the Bloom, a cosmic plague that can corrupt worlds across the galaxy. Your objective is to stop its spread through combat missions on multiple planets, while the choices you make affect which planets succumb and which survive.
The campaign follows the Grey Knights, elite warriors whose existence is shrouded in mystery and enforced through mind-wipes and executions. Between missions, you can upgrade your base, build facilities and research arcane mysteries. The Bloom also changes the worlds it reaches, bringing hazards and altering its enemies.
Gameplay and features
- Build and customise your squad: Command a personalised squad of Grey Knights, develop their skills and psychic abilities, and specialise champions into four standard and advanced classes. Warriors can also be customised with voice, armour and facial options.
- Choose attacks and use the battlefield: Precision Targeting lets you direct tactical decisions, from accurate ranged shots to brutal melee attacks. Combat also includes psychic powers and destructible surroundings, which you can use by bringing down pillars or slamming vehicles into enemies.
- Adapt to the Bloom’s corruption: As the Bloom spreads, environments develop deadly hazards, while cultists and Death Guard Chaos Space Marines can gain new attacks and abilities through mutation. You must adjust your tactics to face these changing threats and towering foes.
