The Medium description

The Medium is a third-person psychological horror game in which a medium investigates a dark mystery connected to the Niwa resort. The central activity is exploring the physical and spirit worlds, using psychic abilities to uncover secrets and face The Maw, a monster born from tragedy.

The spirit world is presented as a dark reflection of reality, where unpunished deeds, evil urges, and secrets can take form. Its visual design draws inspiration from the paintings of Zdzisław Beksiński. The original soundtrack was co-composed by Arkadiusz Reikowski and Akira Yamaoka.

Gameplay and features

  • Explore two realities: Move between the physical and spirit worlds or view them simultaneously. Interactions between the two realities help solve puzzles, open new paths, and awaken memories of past events.
  • Use psychic abilities: An Out of Body experience lets the medium investigate places inaccessible to her physical self. In the spirit world, energy shields and spirit blasts help her withstand otherworldly dangers.
