Dungeons - The Dark Lord is the sequel to Dungeons, a dungeon-building game centered on becoming more evil. It adds a fully scripted and voiced single-player campaign alongside multiplayer for up to four players. Multiplayer offers four modes: Deathmatch, King of the Hill, Piñata and Survival. Players can take control of bosses including Minos, the Zombie King, Calypso and the Dungeon Lord, with a dedicated set of multiplayer skills.

The game introduces an ice crystal cave setting with new graphics, prestige gimmicks and a boss monster. It also includes different dungeon graphics sets and inventories.
