Windscape is a first-person exploration adventure in which you play as Ida, a young girl living on her parents’ farm in a world of floating islands. When the islands begin breaking apart and falling from the sky, Ida sets out to discover the evil threatening the world. The journey moves between island surfaces, dungeons and lairs, where she encounters peaceful inhabitants and hostile monsters.

Ida’s journey begins with a delivery for her parents to a nearby town, before she learns that the fate of the world may rest on her shoulders. The opening island is pastoral, with peaceful nature, a village and a water mill. The world is handcrafted rather than procedurally generated, with detailed places to discover.

• Gather resources and craft: Collect resources and use crafting stations found at key places on the islands. Depending on the materials gathered, you can cook food, make weapons and shields, mix ingredients into potions, and work iron and copper into new forms of metal.
• Explore dungeons and caves: The islands offer non-linear exploration, while dungeons focus more on puzzles and combat. Some are part of the story; others, along with smaller caves, are hidden discoveries. The copper mine is an early dungeon, populated by rat-like enemies and featuring a larger boss encounter.
