RimWorld is a science-fiction colony simulation in which you manage three survivors stranded on a distant world after a shipwreck. An AI storyteller drives the experience as you establish and oversee their colony.

The game draws inspiration from Dwarf Fortress, Firefly and Dune. Its AI storyteller is paired with an AI tutor intended to help players learn.

Gameplay and features

• Manage colonists’ wellbeing: Attend to colonists’ moods and needs, as well as wounds, illnesses and addictions. Their relationships can also develop or break with family members, lovers and spouses.
• Build and craft: Construct structures and make weapons and apparel using materials such as metal, wood, stone, cloth and futuristic resources. The colony can be built in environments including forests, deserts, jungles and tundra.
• Handle threats and injuries: Defend against pirates, tribes, mad animals, giant insects and ancient killing machines. Wounded limbs and organs can be replaced with prosthetics, bionics or biological parts harvested from others.
• Travel and trade: Trade with passing ships and caravans, or form caravans to complete quests, trade, attack other factions or move the entire colony.
